Converting iWork Documents

Apple's iWork Suite will open documents from Microsoft Office natively, but Office will not open iWork documents. In order to share your documents with Office users, follow the steps below. When emailing or uploading your document, be sure you send the Microsoft Office formatted file and not your original iWork document.

From Numbers

  1. Under the File menu, go down to "Export To", and select Excel.
  2. Uncheck the "Include a summary worksheet" checkbox.
  3. Under Advanced Options, you can select whether you'd like to save as an .xlsx or .xls document. Click Next.
  4. Select where you'd like to save your document. Click Export.

From Pages

  1. Under the File menu, go down to "Export To", and select Word.
  2. Under Advanced Options, you can select whether you'd like to save as a .docx or .doc document. Click Next.
  3. Select where you'd like to save your document. Click Export.

From Keynote

  1. Under the File menu, go down to "Export To", and select PowerPoint

  2. Under Advanced Options, you can select whether you'd like to save as a .pptx or .ptt document. Click Next.
  3. Select where you'd like to save your document. Click Export.
