Managing Aruba VIA Client
At the time of this writing, the latest version of Aruba VIA by OS is
Windows – 4.6.0.0.2308084
Mac – The most up to date version can be installed from the App Store.
Requirements:
- Administrator access to the PC
- Windows 7 or newer (32-bit or 64-bit) The 32-bit client is no longer updated.
Network access to https://aruba-via.morningside.edu/via/download?os=win64
A Staff or Faculty member with an active Morningside User Account
Verify your Aruba VIA version
- Open Aruba VIA
- Go to Settings
- Choose the "About" tab
- The version number should be at least the aforementioned version.
Opening Aruba VIA
Double click either the desktop icon or the taskbar icon near the clock
Uninstalling Aruba VIA
If Aruba VIA is already installed and out of date, uninstall it.
Please reboot after uninstalling VIA.
Uninstall through Control Panel
- Right-Click the Start Menu and select "Control Panel."
- Click "Programs and Features"
- Select "Aruba Networks Virtual Internet Access" in the list.
- Click "Uninstall" and follow the wizard.
Uninstall with a script
- Download the file Uninstall_VIA.bat here. ––––>
- Navigate to the file "UninstallVIA.bat" in your "Downloads" folder.
- Right-Click and select "Run as Administrator"
Install Aruba VIA from the web
If you are using a Mac running macOS, please install Aruba VIA through the App Store
Download the VIA installer at https://aruba-via.morningside.edu/via/download?os=win64.
Log in with your Morningside User Account.
- When the download completes, you may run the installer either from your browser or from your downloads folder.
During the installation process, Windows may warn you about installing this application. You should select "Yes" to continue with the installation.
Downloading an Aruba VIA Profile
The first time that you connect, you will be prompted to log in and download a new profile. After that, you will only need to connect.
- Click on the big circle that reads "Click to download VPN profile".
- Type in aruba-via.morningside.edu where it is asking for the VPN Server URL/IP.
- Click Download
- Log in with your Morningside User Account.
- Approve the DUO login notification on your mobile device.
Deleting an Aruba VIA Profile
If your Aruba VIA version is up to date and you are still unable to connect, you may need to delete your profile, and download a new one.
- Select the Settings gear in the upper right corner of Aruba VIA.
- Choose the "VPN Profile" tab – indicated by a key icon.
- Click the red "Clear Profiles" button.
- Select the first entry in VPN Servers.
- Click the blue "–" button in the top right corner. Repeat this step until there are no more VPN Servers listed.
- Finally click the red "Cancel" button to return to the main screen.
