Unset or Reset Network:NT LAN MANAGER AUTHENTICATION Settings
Option 1 (Automatic):
Step 1: Download and run the fix
Download and extract Network_Security_Reset.zip. Double click Network_Security_Reset.reg
to correct the "Network Security: LAN Manager authentication level".
Step 2: Reboot
Reboot your computer to see the settings take effect.
Option 2 (Manual):
Step 1: Open Group Policy
Open the start menu and begin typing, "Group Policy", choosing the Group Policy item once it is listed.
Step 2: Navigate to Security Options
Navigate to Local Computer Policy > Computer Confguration > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Local Policies > Security Options and find "Network Security: LAN Manager authentication level"
Step 3: Select Network security: LAN Manager authentication level
If the security setting is "Not defined," Stop, the setting is already correct.
Double click the setting and select "Send NTLMv2 responses only":
Choose OK and close out, the setting is complete.
